You probably already visit your local pharmacy on the high street or in the supermarket. Our local pharmacists can give you confidential advice and help with minor health concerns like coughs, colds, and other common illnesses. They can also support you with healthy eating, exercise, stopping smoking, checking your blood pressure, contraception, and vaccinations such as flu and COVID-19.
Along with minor illness advice and over the counter medicines, pharmacies will now be able to treat the following seven conditions:
- Shingles - 18 years and over
- Sore throat - 5 years and over
- Infected insect bites - 1 year and over
- Earaches in children 1 to 17 years
- Sinusitis - 12 years and over
- Impetigo - 1 year and over
- Uncomplicated urinary tract infection (UTI) in women 16 to 64 years
In some cases, such as if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, immunocompromised, or have ongoing health issues, you may not be able to receive treatment from a pharmacy and should contact our reception team for advice.
